A small taco joint on the East Side, with it’s modern architecture, spacious patio, and phenomenal food, you can’t go wrong with Takoba, our top pick. Simple Mexican cuisine is served up at very affordable prices. Takoba is known for their fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and a menu that boasts many delicious gluten-free options. They apply the same high standard to the drink menu which offers an extensive selection of Mexican and Latin beers, as well as tequilas and mezcals. They offer greaty drink specials during brunch including dollar mimosas or five dollars for a pitcher. A local favorite for more than 50 years, Maudie’s serves up great home style food with a Tex-Mex flare. They currently have six locations in Austin offering fresh food, great prices, and a lively atmosphere.
